Why this page exists in plain English: CalcLabHub keeps its own use of cookies to an absolute minimum — we don't set tracking or analytics cookies. The cookies that do get set are mostly from Google AdSense, our advertising partner. This page lists what we set, what they set, and how you can opt out of personalised ads.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file your browser stores at the request of a website. Cookies are commonly used to remember your preferences, keep you signed in, or — in the case of advertising — to deliver and measure ads. Some cookies are "first-party" (set by the site you're visiting) and some are "third-party" (set by another company, such as an ad network, through that site).

2. Cookies set by CalcLabHub (first-party)

We aim to set no tracking cookies. The following minimal cookies may be set by the site itself:

• Preference cookies — to remember things like your last-used unit system or dark/light theme. If we ever add these, we'll list them here.
• Security cookies — short-lived cookies required by Cloudflare to distinguish humans from bots and to keep the connection secure. Set by Cloudflare on our behalf.

We don't store any personal data in cookies. We don't sell cookie-derived data. We don't run a first-party analytics product that identifies you.

3. Cookies set by our advertising partner

We display ads through Google AdSense. Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to:

• Decide which ads to show you.
• Cap how often you see the same ad ("frequency capping").
• Measure ad performance (impressions, clicks).
• With your consent where required by law (for example under the EU / UK ePrivacy rules), personalise ads based on your interests.

Google AdSense cookies typically last between 1 day and 2 years, depending on their purpose. Some expire when you close your browser (session cookies); others persist until you clear them.

Google may also use these cookies together with Google's own data (Gmail, YouTube, Search history, etc.) to build a profile of your interests for personalised advertising across the web.

4. How to opt out of personalised advertising

You can control or opt out of personalised advertising from Google and other participating companies through any of the following:

• Google Ads Settings — turn off personalised ads on Google services.
• aboutads.info (NAI) — opt out of personalised ads from NAI member companies.
• YourAdChoices (DAA) — opt out of personalised ads from DAA member companies.
• YourOnlineChoices.eu — opt out for EU users.
• Install an ad blocker such as uBlock Origin.

Opting out doesn't stop you from seeing ads — it stops ads from being personalised based on your browsing.

5. EU / UK visitors (ePrivacy)

If you're visiting from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that requires consent for non-essential cookies, we rely on Google's certified "Consent Mode v2" framework. AdSense will only set personalisation cookies after you grant consent via the consent banner, and your choices are honoured across our pages.

6. Do Not Track

CalcLabHub respects browser-level Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where supported. When these signals are present, Google AdSense will treat your visit as non-personalised.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change which cookies we use or which partners we work with, we'll update this page and bump the effective date.
