Crypto Profit Calculator

A crypto profit calculator shows what you actually keep after a trade. Enter the price you paid per coin, the price you sold at, how many coins you traded, and the trading fee rate. It works out your cost, proceeds, fees, net profit and return on investment — updating as you type.

Estimates only. This tool is provided for educational purposes and is not financial advice. It models the figures you enter — it does not know your credit terms, local taxes, or fees. Talk to a licensed adviser before making a decision.

How to use the crypto profit calculator

  1. Enter the buy price — what you paid per coin.
  2. Enter the sell price — what you sold each coin for.
  3. Enter the quantity of coins you traded.
  4. Enter the trading fee rate your exchange charges.
  5. Read your cost, proceeds, fees, net profit and ROI.

Worked example

You buy 1 coin at $30,000 and sell at $35,000, with a 0.1% fee rate. Cost is $30,000, proceeds are $35,000, fees are $65, net profit is $4,935, and ROI is about 16.45%.

The math

cost = buy price x quantity

proceeds = sell price x quantity

fees = (cost + proceeds) x fee rate / 100

net profit = proceeds - cost - fees

ROI = net profit / cost x 100

Fees are applied to both sides of the trade, which is how most exchanges charge. A negative net profit means the trade lost money after fees.

Frequently asked questions

What is a crypto profit calculator?

It works out the net profit and return on investment from a crypto trade after accounting for the buy price, sell price, quantity and trading fees.

Are fees charged on both sides?

This calculator applies the fee rate to both the buy and the sell, since most exchanges charge a fee on each side of a trade.

What does ROI mean?

ROI is return on investment — your net profit divided by your cost, shown as a percentage. A higher ROI means a more profitable trade.

Can I use it for any coin?

Yes. Enter the price per coin and quantity for any cryptocurrency; the math is the same regardless of the coin.

Does it handle taxes?

No. This shows trading profit before tax. Your local tax rules may treat crypto gains differently, so check with a tax professional.
