How to use the eBay fee calculator
- Enter the item price you plan to sell for.
- Enter the shipping you will charge the buyer.
- Enter the final value fee rate for your category (most are 13.25%).
- Enter the payment processing rate (2.35%) and any insertion fee.
- Read your net payout after every fee.
Worked example
A $50 item with $10 shipping is a $60 total sale. The 13.25% final value fee is $7.95, payment processing (2.35% + $0.30) is $1.71, and a $0.35 insertion fee leaves a net payout of $49.99.
The formula
Gross = Price + Shipping
FV fee = Gross x FVF rate
Processing = Gross x PP rate + PP fixed
Net = Gross - FV fee - Processing - Insertion
Rates differ by category and change over time. Check your eBay invoice for the exact percentages before relying on a number, and remember store subscribers often pay lower insertion fees.
