Time Card Calculator

A time card adds up the hours you work and what you earn. Enter your hourly rate, how many hours you work each day, how many days a week, and how many weeks you worked. The calculator shows your weekly hours, total hours and total pay — updating as you type.

Estimates only. This tool is provided for educational purposes and is not financial advice. It models the figures you enter — it does not know your credit terms, local taxes, or fees. Talk to a licensed adviser before making a decision.

How to use the time card calculator

  1. Enter your hourly wage — what you are paid per hour.
  2. Enter your hours per day — a typical work day.
  3. Enter your days per week you work.
  4. Enter the weeks worked in the period.
  5. Read your weekly hours, total hours and total pay.

Worked example

You earn $20 an hour, work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 4 weeks. Weekly hours are 40, total hours are 160, and total pay is $3,200.

The math

weekly hours = hours per day x days per week

total hours = weekly hours x weeks worked

total pay = total hours x hourly wage

This gives a straight-time total. If you earn overtime, add that separately at your overtime rate.

Frequently asked questions

What is a time card calculator?

It adds up the hours you work over a period and multiplies them by your hourly wage to show your total pay. It is useful for timesheets, freelancers and part-time work.

Does it include overtime?

This basic version uses straight time only. If you work overtime, calculate those hours at your overtime rate and add them to the total pay.

What if I have different hours each day?

Use your average hours per day, or run the calculator a few times for different weeks and add the results.

Is the result before or after tax?

The total pay shown is your gross pay before any tax, insurance or deductions.

Can I use it for salary work?

It is built for hourly work. For salaried roles, divide your salary by your hours to get an effective rate, then use that as the hourly wage.
